The Buffet Of (Your) Life.

Most people know that a buffet offers a variety of foods from which they can choose what they want to eat. It is similar to the different formats and editions of the bible that are available.

Traditionally, the most popular edition is the King James Bible. Many churches and doctrines accept this as the most accurate translation available. But, many doctrines rely on specific interpretations of the same Scriptures. This has brought about differences in the way that the Word is taught and preached, even to the point of omitting certain Scriptures or adding to them, which is something that the Bible itself discourages:

For I testify unto every man that heareth the words of the prophecy of this book, If any man shall add unto these things, God shall add unto him the plagues that are written in this book:

And if any man shall take away from the words of the book of this prophecy, God shall take away his part out of the book of life, and out of the holy city, and from the things which are written in this book. (Revelation 22:18-19)   Be Warned!

As an example of the differences in written or recorded Word we can use the King James Version (KJV)  and the American Standard Version (ASV)

Mark 9:29  of the KJV is written as:  And he said unto them, This kind can come forth by nothing, but by prayer and fasting.” Whereas the ASV writes it as: (Mark 9:29)  And he said unto them, This kind can come out by nothing, save by prayer.

There is a major difference in the Scriptures, and this is not the only example of such things. In our comparison, the KJV states that “this kind can only come forth by prayer and fasting Whereas the ASV states “This kind can come out by nothing, save by prayer.

The KCB version tells us that we need to pray and fast to achieve the casting out of the particular demon that was possessing the young boy. The ASV version tells us that we only need to pray. Which one is correct? Well, your specific church doctrine will dictate both the Bible version you should be using and the explanation of the specific Scripture. This is where confusion can be found sometimes. Additionally, you have access to specific teachers and preachers own interpretations printed in format carries their name. I believe that most of these servants are good and godly men and women, are genuine and have that kind of calling on their life, we cannot just simply rely on one person’s version of Scripture. Hence, the Buffet.

The Lord also instructs us to study the Word says in 2nd Timothy 2:15)  “Study to shew thyself approved unto God, a workman that needeth not to be ashamed, rightly dividing the word of truth.”

When you are teaching or preaching the Word of God you are that workmen and, if you are “rightly dividing the word of truth” you are encouraged not to be ashamed of it because you are approved of God. Qualified to preach and teach His Word. And there are many who are not qualified except by their selves. The false teachers.

So, when you invite people to partake of the buffet of their lives, it is your responsibility to ensure that the food is perfect and if they don’t know what that food is, it is your responsibility to explain it to them so that their choices can be perfect for their needs.
