Charity to the Poor and Needy

Jesus cares about the poor and needy. In fact, the scripture He quoted about Himself at the beginning of His ministry said:

(Luke 4:18-19) The Spirit of the Lord is upon me, because He hath anointed me to preach the gospel to the poor; He hath sent me to heal the brokenhearted, to preach deliverance to the captives, and recovering of sight to the blind, to set at liberty them that are bruised, To preach the acceptable year of the Lord.

Who, and or, what is more poor than a lost, cursed, dying world and the people on it?

The good news, from our Heavenly Father, is that Jesus is our Saviour and Redeemer from the curse that began with the fall of man. Now, because of Jesus, all things that pertain to life and godliness, have been given unto us and God supplies all our need, according to His riches in glory, by Christ Jesus. He also makes all grace abound toward us that we having all sufficiency in all things, may abound unto every good work.

(2nd Peter 1:3) According as His divine power hath given unto us all things that pertain unto life and godliness, through the knowledge of Him that hath called us to glory and virtue:

(Philippians 4:19) But my God shall supply all your need according to His riches in glory by Christ Jesus.

(2nd Corinthians 9:8-12) And God is able to make all grace abound toward you; that ye, always having all sufficiency in all things, may abound to every good work: (As it is written, He hath dispersed abroad; He hath given to the poor: His righteousness remaineth for ever. Now He that ministereth seed to the sower both minister bread for your food, and multiply your seed sown, and increase the fruits of your righteousness;) Being enriched in every thing to all bountifulness, which causeth through us thanksgiving to God. For the administration of this service not only supplieth the want of the saints, but is abundant also by many thanksgivings unto God;

As we all grow in faith and grace in these revelations, God promises that we can prosper and be in health even as our souls prosper. The more we prosper, the greater ability we have to bless and help others. One of our ministry goals is to be a blessing to others by helping them to have their needs met by teaching them how to receive from God, so they can be both blessed and be a blessing to others……
